But I want that sort of speed too! Wirelessly, dammit! ^_^ Oh well.. at least it'll mean being able to reminisce to the youngsters in fifty years' time, about the days when most people could only get the odd megabit or so (unless they lived in the mythical lands of Japan and Korea). And computers barely capable of a gigabyte or two of memory? The Mk.LXVII Furby will have more than that. ^_^

Ah well. At least the ISP's going for a bulk regrade to shift everyone's DSL connections to the fastest their line can support, currently up to 2Mbps, to be extended to 8Mbps within a year or so, for those living closer to the exchange. (And ADSL2+ promises up to 18Mbps, but again, only for shorter lines - further afield, plain ADSL will be better) Still a little way from VDSL, going up to around 100Mbps..

And once upon a time, a 2400 baud modem seemed nippy. ^_^;
