System update.

Stuffs:
improved OpenGL technology and updated ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers
improved file sharing and directory services for mixed Mac and PC networks
improved compatibility for third party applications and devices
previous standalone security updates.

Also:
Improves the performance of Blizzard World of Warcraft's "Full Screen Glow" video feature.
Addresses an issue with Mac OS X 10.3.7 in which iChat, Mail, or other network-based applications could take a long time to open.
Addresses "jumping cursor" issues that might occur when using your portable computer's trackpad with your thumb, side of thumb, or a "flat" finger.

I held off from it for a few days, just in case (not that I've had problems with any update, but with Bunny out of action, my safety margin's reduced), as it didn't seem to bring anything overly dramatic to the table - but, there is apparently more to it than meets the eye: the update also carries Darwin 7.8.0, up from 10.3.7's 7.7.0. Probably no huge difference for anyone, though I wonder why they didn't mention it in the summary.

Seems fine from here - I've applied it to Dormouse and Ocelot, with no noticeable effects.

As AtAT speculated, what will happen if Apple decides to release more than one further update before Tiger's arrival? Will we see 10.3.10, or are they going to introduce fractions? ^_^

Hahaha, yeah.. yes, 10.3.8-9/16 has just been released~!

I haven't noticed anything amiss. Mail stilll crashes while trying to parse e-mails with chinese characters in the subject....

Hm. Wonder what's actually causing it indigestion? Maybe it's the actual method of encoding the characters? I tried a quick test with some random glyphs (which, for all I know, spell out some terrible, unforgivable curse), with the subject line "Chinese subject line testing: 丽丳两丧三", and Mail was quite happy. Maybe some sort of standards violation which other MUAs overlook?

Or maybe the way it's being recieved from Comcast, our mail server. I dunno. Here's what I see in the Console:
