Coffee flavored Yogurt tastes NASTY. Seriously nasty. As bad as nasty cough medicine. No, worse. Like wine, 'cept you're mixing coffee and yogurt.. and there's not enough coffee flavor to cover the yogurt which.. ugh..

Remind me never to try this stuff again.

And it needs to massively dump snow on our area tomorrow. I'm tired of this sprinkle-y stuff that gives us a millimeter of snow and then wanders off to do business elsewhere. Or maybe I just need to modify the way my spell works. Is it conflicting with someone else's..?

Ooooh, and I found xsnow! (and also xroach) both which run on the X11 window system. It's a umm... GUI layer for unix, I guess..? Dunno how to describe it. Any unix guru's out there that want to give it a better definition?

Pretty much - X11 is the foundation layer for most Unix UIs, with the notable exception of OS X, which uses Quartz, based on Display PDF (hence the system-wide ability to print to PDFs, as well as printers and faxes). X11's been around for quite a while, hence its high adoption ratio. Gnome and KDE are two popular window managers which sit on top of X11, fwiw. One particularly nice aspect of X11, and OpenStep's Display PostScript, is that it's a client-server system, so the two can be running on different systems entirely transparently; OS X unfortunately lost that capability in the transition from DPS to DPDF. (Reportedly, Adobe wanted an insane amount for licensing DPS again, so Apple rolled their own. A well-integrated implementation of X11 is included with Panther, though, so folks can run X11 programs too, and have them look much like a "native" app)

I have yet to actually dig into X11... never really found a use for it so far. Hopefully I'll figure out why xsnow and xroach refuse to compile (lack of libraries, I'm guessing at the moment. I need try again when I have more time and read the error messages.) and get something that'll run. Or maybe I should use fink. Hum..
