Man, the Harry Potter movie made me wish I was back at school.

Also, Harry, what's wrong with you? Everyone's standing respectfully away from Dumbledore and you rush in and GROPE HIS CHEST?

(Yes, it was supposed to be touching and... meh, I just found it kinda odd.)

Overall, it was good. I don't recall the book anymore, but it seemed like everything that needed to be there was there. Or at least I wasn't particularly bothered by anything. I think I actually have a used hard copy I picked up somewhere, so I'll probably read it again. Or maybe re-read the whole series? Meh.

Kinda wanna to re-read some of the better fanfiction too...

Probably won't appeal to too many of you, but... it's amusing. Think light-snack/desert.

Also, slashdot comment that sums up the problems with harry potter: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=253847&cid=19950819

Although, personally, I didn't care all that much. Give me a decent story, and I'll be happy.

Awww~ I liked the ending. It got a bit confusing and messy, but it was a pleasant way to end such a long series.

I just hope she doesn't try to write more. That would be bad. Maybe. Leave it up to the fanfiction authors and all that.

I think that took me 5? 6 hours? ::yawns:: very good. Haven't devoured a book in a while.

I trust you guys won't call these spoilers. They won't make ANY sense unless you've read the book. Still, if you'd rather not read, don't hilight the empty space below. Heck, most of them won't even be quotes... Just me being silly.

(to be periodically update as I find things that amuse me)

-Holey. Teeheehee.
-I want a floaty, lilac-colored dress with matching high heels. And sleek and shiny hair!
-"Oh, damn, that’ll be the books, and I had them all stacked by subject..." ^^;;;
-fiddling about with goats! Hahahahah....
-Mwhahaha, traveling via toilet.
-Death's got an invisibility cloak. For the times that he gets bored of running at his victims, flapping his arms and shrieking... ^^;;
-"Wands are only as powerful as the wizards who use them. Some wizards just like to boast that theirs are bigger and better than other people’s.”"
-Man, Harry Potter is such a whore. Playing with other people's wands... "There were two in there. He had forgotten, lost track; he could not now remember whose wands these were; he seemed to remember wrenching them out of someone’s hand. He selected the shorter of the two, which felt friendlier in his hand, and pointed it at the rock."
-Oh, don’t mind me . . . I’ll just lie here and crumble. . . .
-“Oi! There’s a war going on here!” ::facepalm oh so much::
-"And Voldy’s gone moldy!" Hehehe. Reminds me of This Means War and the moldivort nickname...

Harry Potter:
-Saw the movie. Was not impressed - it felt like a rough outline of a plot, zoomed in on certain events. Not worth going into theaters.
-The next book has been leaked, however, it's incomplete. There's 495 pages floating around online, taken with a camera - you can see the hand holding down the book. A... impressive attempt - the processes must have been quite tedious. But really, they could have held the camera closer to the book... I could fix it up so that reading it would easier on the eyes. But honestly - not that desperate right now.

...Or, you know, they're irrationally worried about sales, so they did this, releasing 70% of the book online, so people would want to buy the book when it comes out.

Otakon:
Friend is not going. Other friend is a very vague (she's got decent reasons) maybe. I suspect I'll be selling my badge.

MacBook Pro:
I can watch high quality 1080p trailers! Without lag! So happy. ::watches the The Golden Compass trailer::

And heat - not too bad. I've seen the CPU peak at 74ºC, but it hasn't gone higher than that. Enclosure temperature claims to be 39ºC, I believe, and it's painfully uncomfortable. But that only happens when I'm compiling stuff and using the processor really heavily. Otherwise, it cools down nicely to around 50-60ºC (CPU)

Why is my room consistently a mess?

For those who are following This Means War, by Jeconais, part 2 of 3 of the final chapter has been released. [link to chapter]

And when you finish that (jeeze, that was kinda long. And I'm running out of time.) there's a short (but complete!) fanfic called "Chances", also by Jeconais, that's... not as good, but crazy fluffy*. [link to first chapter]

*via urbandictionary.com: "Used to describe a scene in a fanfiction that could be considered an 'awww' moment."

..has been announced to be "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"

It strikes me as a wimpy name, for some odd reason. Dunno why. And Hallows? Reminds me of Bleach. ^^;;;;

Because I keep losing track of these. Even though updates are often rare anyways...

This Means War by Jeconais. Quite unfortunately on hold.

Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who plays Harry Potter, will appear nude in a London stage production of Equus.

So do we finally find out the truth about the 13.2842 cm ?"

Worth reading. The fanfic, I mean. It will crack you up. Unless you hate harry potter, or.. something.

So, by count, there's currently 4 releases out there, according to vcdquality.com [link]

Yes, torrents have hit most of the BT trackers. Still, I have to congratulate the anti-piracy groups for somehow managing to keep it from appearing anywhere before, and on the day it was released.

More in a friend's-only post. 'cause my journal is google-searchable, and there's been a few times that I've suspected that evil people watch my journal and shut nice sites down. ::paranoid~ whee::
ibneko: (Default)
No harry potter torrent yet. Slightly odd... Kinda wonder if someone made an announcement to all the usual releasing groups and asked them nicely to not release harry potter?

Nah, no way...

But still, no signs of even a camrip... which there usually is by now. The only thing I'm coming across is the Harry Potter &/ Goblet of Fire PS2 game? =o.O=
ibneko: (Default)
Yay for overstock.com. I got my book today~ =^.^= And yes, shipping was free. There was no tax. So the grand total? $15.99

Hehe, yay for good deals, more or less.

very short and rather unrevealing rant on hp )

[edit]
Whee, done reading at 4:40 AM. 'bout... 5 hours after starting.

And fuck it, more ranting, with more spoilers now )

Ok, now for bed. ::yawns, and dies::
