Harry Potter: The Deathly Hollows
Jul. 21st, 2007 03:24 amAwww~ I liked the ending. It got a bit confusing and messy, but it was a pleasant way to end such a long series.
I just hope she doesn't try to write more. That would be bad. Maybe. Leave it up to the fanfiction authors and all that.
I think that took me 5? 6 hours? ::yawns:: very good. Haven't devoured a book in a while.

Date: 2007-07-22 06:08 am (UTC)I'm actually with you. At this juncture, it would have been a wee bit too predictable to have Harry actually die. This worked out rather well. Considering the body count, I don't think it's fair to call the ending too fairy-tail-ish.
That being said, I could have done without the epilogue. I mean, ok, naming his second son Albus Severus was rather interesting, but other than that, it just felt a little out of place.
(Incidentally, if they named the older one James Sirius - as I would suspect they did - they get whatever is coming to them as parents. That like an explicit instruction to wreak havoc upon the unsuspecting masses.)

Date: 2007-07-30 03:16 am (UTC)My theory is that Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy are finally going to end the Gryffindor-Slytherin rivalry for good after they band together to save themselves from all the teasing they're going to get about their really ridiculous names. I may have to write that particular fanfiction at some point if my real writing ever gets a little more under control.
And my biggest complaint was probably that Draco Malfoy was balding, for some reason. I just kind of went "NOOOOO! How dare she make him balding?" which was really, really not the point.
