One of my friends started a movie quote competition. So I started a literary quote competition. The first one is really easy for you RMers, but the rest will get more challenging I promise. In any case, here's round 1, and I'll occasionally post the others. You get half-credit each for auther and work and if it's a short story or essay, it's a third for author, work, and collection.

1pt: "The horror, the horror!"
2pt: "My mother is a fish."
6pt: "Life is not a series of gig lamps symmetrically arranged; life is a luminous halo, a semi-transparent envelope surrounding us from the beginning of consciousness to the end."
