Listing advantages only-
---
UMCP:
Closer to home = easier access to crap I left at home.
Closer to home = reliable source of open internet access/server stuff.
Cheaper. 17.3K-ish
Closer to here = more friends, will keep in touch with more people. And closer to family.
Seems to have a stance of "As long as you don't cause problems with too much illegal crap, we don't give a shit."
In the honor's program there.
Closer to shopping/entertainment areas

UIUC:
More independence
Better(?) Engineering/Computer Science (departments? people?)
Parents went there, continue the trend?
Famous for various things in the computer world (as in, there's various unix scripts and programs that have "by the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign")
Have relative (uncle?) that's a professor there.
In the honor's program there.
Far away from Washington = won't get hit by nukes or chemical weapons.
No close "fun" places, sleepy town = more concentrated studying?

Sadly, neither seem to offer single dorm rooms - I fear living with other people. It scares me. Hopefully beach week will help allay my fears. Hopefully. Guys in general scare me, I honestly don't know how to respond to half the macho stuff that other guys do. Heck, I have problems socializing in general. :P stupidity.

Let's see... went to drama, poked the jigsaw and got it to behave a bit more, screwed the head of a bed (brain keeps saying headpost, but that's not it. headboard?) so it'd stand up correctly, got paint all over my hands. I also read a bit of AP Euro History (why _AM_ I taking this..?) this morning. Tonight, hopefully I'll read a bit more, as well as AP Physics. Need to find a book for AP Eng. Lit. so I can see what it's going to be like and not walk into the exam blind.

UIUC has a strong quiz bowl team :D

..not that I would ever consider that in the college apps process. Never. Of course not.

AP Lit didn't look too bad when I looked through the review book (without actually doing the questions). It does require you to base essays on stuff you've read, so you have to have read some lit unlike with the AP Lang exam, but I don't think they require specific titles (and IB's walked us through plenty in four years anyway). That's right, I looked through the wrong book for AP. On purpose. When I went to B&N they didn't have Princeton Review for Lang so I just got bored and read the other book.

It was the headboard . . . hhnnn . . . I guess I should study for the AP exams . . . I'm in the classes for Envi Sci and English Lit, but I should poke Euro & World History . . .
