::grumbles:: no hot guys... Where are all the strange, crazy girls!?! Do they exist only in the gifted/talented/magnet/ib programs? Arg... seriously, all I've seen are cute quiet ones that study hard with giant backpacks, ditzy idiots hanging onto muscular male arms, and girls that fall somewhere between them and in the "normal" area. And there's a distinct lack of females in engineering. 'tis sad. Well, not "lack", but there's certainly less. Why aren't there co-ed dorm rooms? ::grumbles more:: Granted, I probably don't want to meet certain girls out there... and co-ed would run a higher chance of that. Mmm, ok, no co-ed dorm rooms then. co-ed floor, mebbe?

I'm being too obsessive about this. Someone hit me.

[ edit | I guess the actual point of this is, I'm getting tired of wandering around on campus alone. And the biggest problem? There isn't anyone who's in more than one of my classes. And the people I meet at my dorm... are all guys. And all of them already have much firmer friendships with other people. So no one will check with me to see if I want to go somewhere they're going. And I can't exactly ask too many times, 'cause that just sounds... clingy. And annoying. Yeah. ]

if i were at your school, i'd walk around with you, and then punch you, because you said, "someone hit me." but it wouldn't be very hard because i never punch anyone very hard unless it's my brother.

Are there clubs you can dabble in? A lot of the strange, crazy people I know are from geeky activities.

*hugs* I know how that feels. I analyze and overanalyze every little detail of human interaction if I have the time. Just give it some time and talk to various people. Soon you'll find the ones like you. It took me a little time too because none of them are on my floor and they're not quite as pervy as they could be, but I can always corrupt them. And here's a piece of advice that's come in handy here...forget where I heard it, but it helps a lot: People don't look for reasons to dislike other people, and they can be a lot more open than you think they'll be.

Granted, there are exceptions, but that's the general rule. Good luck!

hey man its hard getting used to college... in any case, the top floors of my dorm here at U of M, Ann Arbor, MI [bursley is the dorm) are Coed by floor, so the rooms on each side of the opposite gender, no coed showers though, :( lol but yeah... hehe ^^ yeah... so they exist, but I would follow contrasedative's idea to join a club... it works, I'm serious

also, you should relax... don't be one of those freshies running all over the place like a chicken with its head chopped off... the girls are out there, but unfortunately I do agree there are fewer in engineering... just look around, and no matter who you are going for, step 1 is to smile step 2 is to be confident or act it well enough so everyone is fooled, step 3 is to concentrate on keeping steps 1 and 2 together... seriously, charisma is all facial expression, tone of voice, and posture... doesn't matter what you are wearing or who you are with...

Mmm, you're not too far from me then... I think. My mom went to Ann Arbor for a while, although I'm not too sure what she was doing there as a student... Probably Masters? (In music, I believe)
