Those two numbers keep calling me.

And when I call back, it tells me the numbers are disconnected.

One number appears to turn up as a telemarketing number. And um, the other one.. I dunno.

And picking up when they call me gives me an error message.

Probably both telespammers, just with one not having updated their systems. Caller ID;'s something which can be faked, especially online, as opposed to ANI (automatic number identification), which as I recall, is what the emergency services and toll-free number owners get to see, and which can't be spoofed. Quite why there's this distinction I can't say, not being a telecoms sort, but it's probably in a newsgroup FAQ somewhere.

Is the number on the federal Do Not Call, Please Die Painfully list?
