First: IT Security Warfare. A rather interesting read, at least for me.

Second: a presentation at the AAAS. Someday, I'll have the self-esteem and guys to stand up in front of a crowd and do that.

Third, from the interesting Geeketiquette blog, comes the Dresscodes: Geek vs. Non-Geek. Some of it is true, I suppose.

(but potentially worth noting, if you're a geek like I am, and fail to pick up on normal social cues...)

Lastly, via metaquotes (and [livejournal.com profile] porsupah): the interaction between Christianity and Islam, if they're both kids....

TT.TT I'm sorry! I'm terrible about getting back to comments right away >0< I've been occupied choreographing Hare Hare Yukai for Quad Day. I'll talk with you soon!

Dress codes interesting. I'm still trying to figure out what'll be acceptable for me, given it's not a techie company.

Ruby on Rails - another one of those "some day" things.

Butterfly ball whee~ Which was the origami book you mentioned a few posts back?

Mmmm. Yes, it is. Although I wish we could just do away with dress codes completely~ ::finds the formalities to be an expensive nusance:: The post that I linked to had other links too, and I think one was to the female dress code. Although I'm not entirely sure if it was for female geeks dress code? ::shrugs:: Just... go and poke a salesperson and ask for assistance to get a business casual outfit put together. And maybe a business formal one. And wear those to work until you figure out what's acceptable there?

Yeah. Arrrr~ some day. XD I need to make it like a NaNoWriMo thing. Although I think I just need to figure out how to get started. And find a problem to solve...

The lovely boxes book. ::ponders purchasing...::

Agreed. I'd be pretty happy with uniforms, given they were comfortable. Yup, saw the female dress codes. I'm thinking it's more for female geeks in a geek setting though? Looking for more of a female geek in a business setting but still in a geek role. We'll see.

Ah! I do have the book, so if I can get my scanner hooked up when I get back...

:: twitches at her userpic:: da fuh...? o.O Hehehe.. Vampire? Or zombie?

Ah, no worries. Book's been purchased from Amazon already~ Although scans would be spiffy, so I could keep it on my laptop, leaving the hardcopy at home. But I can do that myself, once the book arrives. Any other recommended origami books, by the way?

Might be zombie, now that you mention it.

Ah, good purchase. I like to fold box-y/unit-y things, flowers, and spirals. There are others who like folding animals and other things. Any preference? Here's a pretty good review site: http://www.giladorigami.com/

Hmmm. I think I prefer patterns. Most origami animals aren't really as amazing looking as boxes, stars, and other things with some sort of symmetry.

Models by Tomoko Fuse and Toshikazu Kawasaki are quite good.
