I'm sorry that Ernmas got the idea to make your MacBook Pro misbehave.
The power button has caused the shutdown prompt to appear for a while on mine.
With Ernmas, the trackpad DID work, but that didn't help much. The only way I got the keyboard to respond was to repeatedly play with the page-up and page-down functions (the fn and up/down arrow buttons). I know that's weird, but that's the ONLY thing that worked.
