Tower Records...
Nov. 22nd, 2006 05:41 pmA delightful 40% off everything, more or less. Some things were 75% off (like... magazines and other useless objects)
Of note, that I did not buy:
Assorted anime series (His and Her Circumstance, Gravitation, Jubei (second season), to name a few)
Assorted manga... there was less of this. (Battle Vixen?, Warcraft (WTF?))
Some non-broadway musicals... the name I no longer remember.
There were two Eddie Izzard CDs I saw, but didn't buy. As well as a lot of Stephen Lynch CDs (Superhero, and a few others)
I did end up buying (or rather, mom paid, I picked) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Saikano DVD Volumes 1 and 4 (episodes 1-4, 11-13), Mickey Mouse black and white treasures volume 2 (shhhh. The little kid in me demanded it. Even though I would have preferred the colored stuff...).
And then I found (annoyingly enough, not in the actual musicals section, but scattered around the store, 'cause people picked it up and left it elsewhere):
Rent: the musical soundtrack (OBC - original broadway cast)
Wicket (hahah, sweet. Was 18.99. After 40% savings, is now about $10-11)
Sunset Blvd (American Premiere Recording?)
The Wedding Singer (OBC)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (OBC)
Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Aspects of Love" and "Song & Dance"
Also picked up stuff for the little sister as a christmas present.
I think the final bill came to around $500~ ^^;;;;; half of it was mom's classical music CDs. And the other half was my stuff. Musicals are absurdly expensive - even after the 40% off, some were more than $20...

For people who don't know - it's because Tower Records had gone bankrupt, and was auctioned off to some other company. And said company is closing all Tower Record stores. Hence, they're selling everything. Including the furniture. Which amused my mother.
