I hurt. ::winces:: but we got the fucking several meter high steps-to-scafolding thing up. Go us (being mostly me and Fei-fei, with the help of Lady, Chris Conroy, and Tobin). Managed to get splinters in my hand breaking the wood since we used saws instead of the nice electric thingie. Didn't want to disturb the actors, was Fei-fei's later reason. Should have asked him earlier and dragged it out to do it myself. Fuck them, it's the TECH rehearsal. And they want the scaffolding thing, don't they?

There's now a track that goes across the stage, signs of us dragging from stage left to stage right.

In other news, Cornell doesn't want me either. That would make 4/7 rejections, and 2/7 acceptances, and 1 that we're still waiting on, but probably got rejected from.

I know it's really not true and the chances of me getting in when pitted against certain others makes it slim, but I would like to shoot the admissions people. :P Damn, I'm too tired, I can't even rant properly. Probably would have been something childish along the lines of it isn't fair, and damn them, and they suck, and stuff. But I'm irrational (or perhaps more truthful, I dunno) when tired... so... I dunno how I really think.

...yeah, definitely can't rant. Ugh. Lady, did the energy actually get to you, I couldn't tell... although I am tired, but I think that's really more from working on the stupid scaffolding/ladder-steps things... Which has been named the death-trap, btw.

To the underclassmen, especially those with <3.4 GPAs and <1600 SATs.. if you plan on applying to an assortment of difficult colleges/universities (ie. MIT, Stanford, Yale, etc.), make sure you apply to some easy ones as well... UMBC, UMCP, nameless schools... ones that'll waive the application fee because they want you to apply so badly... Just for those acceptance letters, you know. It'll make you feel better, trust me. I want another acceptance letter... . . . . .

This is sad, I'm going to bedshower, then bed, now. Unless I feel more awake after the shower, then I might come back and watch anime until 2-3 AM or play FFIX.

Again, fuck you, admissions office-people. May you and your offspring (down to the sixth generation) forever become stupider by the intelligence quotient of one turtle for EACH PERSON YOU REJECT! _SO_ _MOTE_ _IT_ _BE_!

ah, and if you happen to be the offspring of an admissions office-person, get yourself disownedtoo bad. Sucks for you.

hey, i totally know how you feel regarding the admissions processes. i only got into 25% of the schools i applied to (2/8), which makes me feel really bad in terms of numbers.. especially since i'm 1500+ SAT, and 3.5+ GPA. but after the initial disappointment, i kind of stepped back and was like, "well, why would i go to a school that doesn't appreciate me? furthermore, maybe there really IS a reason that i got rejected - maybe i really would not have done well there, or fit in there." of course i would relish having the CHANCE of knowing.. but i'm very happy with Carnegie Mellon - i can finally awaken my inner nerd. also, the 6 schools i got rejected/waitlisted from were very competitive.. i mean, hello: duke, cornell, MIT, ..? duke's regular admissions this year was INSANE - only accepted 10%!

and i just have to spread my CMU happiness: i'm glad that i'm going there. i definately chose it over UMCP, just because i want to get out of maryland.. but i took a second look after i chose it, and then i realized what a nice, small school it is. (~5000 total, or so). also, they use electronic card keys for the dorm rooms! hot.

my plan is to become an admissions officer. or at least, be the person who presses the button to put the decisions online.. and i'd put it on, wait 5 minutes, take it back off, wait 5 minutes, put it back on, ..repeat.

[livejournal.com profile] september_child (my best friend) goes to cmu and loves it. i also applied there, and it certainly wasn't my last choice. i visited her for a few days last year, and it was a lot of fun. (not as fun as a certain school in connecticut, but i am of course extremely biased.)

Mmm, if I were to become an admissions officer/person in control of putting it online, I'd probably try to make sure the most qualified applicants get their acceptance e-mail/letter last. Let them fret about it some more, maybe they'll die earlier from more stress and let some of the dumber people in the world be happier. ::evil::

Mmmm, I dunno if I'd have gotten into CMU anyways... isn't it pretty competitive as well...?

::muses:: I don't think I have that many underclassmen readers... =O.o= you may wish to post this elsewhere... Or post it in the past, where it might have made me work harder for better grades and SAT scores :P

They harp on us graduating seniors? ::hasn't really noticed...:: who are these people, if I may ask? And how'd we get from me not getting into various nice places to evil underclassmen... ::goes back to re-read his post, slightly lost::
