Labyrinth Of Flames
Apr. 29th, 2004 04:44 pm::cracks up:: hehehe, stupid comedy, random music, silly chase scenes, and short enough to be enjoyable for the amount of silly fanservice it has. Granted, I just watched the second episode, and kinda have forgotten what the first episode was like... so...
This is the ending song [ mp3, 2.9M | Labyrinth_Of_Flames-ED.mp3 ] they used. It sounds very familiar. Anyone want to identify? Opera? o.O Russian, maybe? [random] Figaro? [/random] o.O Russian might actually make sense. I think the main guy is supposed to be a Russian who wants to become a samurai, and so... Yeah, it's Russian choral music. [ http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/reviews/display.php?id=249 ] Still, anyone wanna identify it further?

Argh, I've got to get DSL in.. money's fearsomely tight, but I'm missing out on Twin Spica (if there've been any new releases since ep.9.. aaah, no! Still stuck there. That makes me a very saaad panda), Paranoia Agent, FMA, Papuwa, not to mention newcomers like Monster and Ashiteruze Baby.. and what was that one featuring a sort of frog mecha-equipped defender? Can't seem to find it in Jascii's archive. Funny.. thought I saw it there: Kanagawa Keroro Gunso.

Date: 2004-04-29 05:17 pm (UTC)Are there video files of the production as well? I'm a visual panda, yes.. I can, of course, recommend Cleaner for assisting in things like gentle softening of the image, and noise reduction. Cleaner 6 runs under OS X, though I'm led to understand its UI has degraded somewhat from C5 (OS 9 only), following the end of Terran Interactive.
Sometime, I'll have to try some demanding audio tracks, and try my own comparisons between mp3 and aac, from very low to moderately high bitrates. I only have some cheapy earbuds, though, so it'd hardly be an audiophile test. ^_^; Something wildly unpredictable might be a good candidate, like Autechre "Gantz Graf", or relying on spatial imaging, like Coil "Nasa Arab". For particularly natural high quality mastering.. tricky. Maybe something off the net. Still, all my 'books are only 16-bit out anyway, so it wouldn't be super-fi anyway.
Yay! The theme's coming in very nicely now. ^_^

Date: 2004-04-29 08:09 pm (UTC)I long for the whizziness of a pukka DV Firewire bridge. ^_^ I've a good deal of Hi-8 footage I'd like to edit and compress at full 640x480 (in some cases, more like 640x360; I often use 16:9 mode, though all it achieves is hard-masking the frame on this camcorder. Depends how well the situation frames), especially some of my travels, which'd be a fairly involved editing task, and not something I'd really want to go through at low res, and then have to revisit as a separate project.
