Ooo, new Karaoke place in SF!

ibnekoWent to YamaSho up in the city today. This was the first karaoke place I've ever been to where they had TONS songs from musicals. Practically entire soundtracks from the major, popular ones like Wicked, Avenue Q, Spamalot, and they had things from Hello Dolly, Scarlet Pimpernel, Jekyll and Hyde, Chess, and a ton that I no longer remember.
Granted, their system seemed like a combination of a lot of Karaoke VCD / CD+G systems. Didn't get a chance to check their Japanese song offerings, but hell, I'd go back just for the musicals. Kinda missed seeing random videos in the backgrounds, but eh, I guess I'll pass on that for lower quality words rendered on a solid color background.
Also, they charge by minute, which is probably good.
We went during their happy hour (5-7 PM Weekdays) for 30% off their karaoke rooms. This was followed by about 20 minutes of non-happy-hour, at 20% normal price (a "Just Opened" promotion). Total per person with a rather overpriced sushi party plate ($27) came to about $20 ($17.50+tip). (Total before tip for our group of 4 was around $70, I believe.)
