Got kittens

A pair of female toubies (Tortoiseshell Tabbies?).
Unorganized report of the kittens as follows:
Took some chasing around, picking up and petting, but the curious one no longer runs and hides. Although now the fear has turned into crying when I leave the bedroom I'll be leaving them in. (They don't get full run of the house until I've gone to Fry's and gotten something to tie up my assorted computer cords and made sure they can't get themselves into too much trouble - I may have to reinforce the screen door that leads out to my patio.)
Hehe. The curious one has discovered that there's catnip on the scratching cardboard thing the rescue agency left with them. She just spent the past 5 minutes or so trying to roll herself into the cardboard.
I also need to figure out what to do about leaving them alone. The crying isn't too helpful. ^^;; Part of me worries that the neighbors will think I'll killing some poor helpless animal or something. And the other part of me goes ":("
The quiet, shy one has fallen asleep in one of my many cardboard boxes. Hehehe. Sleeping kitten.
I need names for them. I also need to figure out how to tell them apart. XD They eyes have slightly different shades. One's nose is supposedly lighter than the other. May have to toss collars on them or something.
Aww, the curious one is really curious about my laptop.
At least they appear to be housebroken. Yay.
Have pictures. Will try to remember to post.

Date: 2010-08-10 03:30 am (UTC)Don't feel bad about locking them up when you're not there -- it's more important that they be safe than be what-they-think-is-happy, since they're kittens. They'll have plenty of time to explore & play. Having them choke on cables or escape or ruin your electronics is worse than having them cry.
