1 done. I've got one more altoids case (yet to finish eating), and two 9V connectors, and a double AA connector (that needs an additional 9V connector), and one more firewire port/outlet thing. So I can make another one, if anyone wants it. Although I might ask for money, 'cause it took me 'bout 3-4 hours to finish. Including annoying soldering (Damn, the connectors on the firewire port are SMALL. >.>)
Yeah, if you want pictures, ask. I'll take them, and post (immediately - since I'm at home...). Also, there's a few pictures of other things from a while back... Need to post those too...

Date: 2005-03-22 10:59 pm (UTC)I'm not on break anymore but since you are... I won't feel bad about taking you away from studying...
:) let me know... how many hours of battery life extra does this provide again?
:) I read the article but I've never soldered anything in my life, so it seemed a project out of my league ... and access to tools...

Date: 2005-03-23 04:33 am (UTC)But I'd go for a non-hacked up one, like Griffin's [ http://www.streetwise.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=3032 ] or Some brandless unknown charger: [ http://www.supermediastore.com/apple-ipod-9v-emergency-adapter.html ] or this odd thing [ http://www.glblsrc.com/shop/product.php?productid=16256&cat=0&page=1 ]
It's stated to provide 10 hours. However, with my (lack of) soldering skills, I can't guarantee that it won't short circuit one day and blow up in your face, or burn something down (I'm actually terribly afraid mine will set my backpack on fire someday.
And um, while I'm sure it's pretty safe for your iPod, I can't guarentee absolute safely. XP Think um... Windows. Or alpha version software. (Ok, maybe not windows.)
