So, I'd like to know: Are you happy? Do you consider yourself happy, or do people generally think that you're happier than you actually are?

I am happy, quite happy. I'm a very happy person. BUT I think very few people recognize that, because I am (quite often) extremely intense and anxiety-ridden. But, in a weird, disparate way I've never been able to explain, my anxiety has no bearing on my happiness.

It's like this--if I had just recently become anxious, then it would probably deteriorate my quality of life. But I've ALWAYS been anxious. My mother used to say that she didn't realize toddlers could be stressed out until she had me. Is it a disorder? Probably. But it's like blindness or deafness...I can't miss being relaxed because I've never been truly relaxed.

Before you ask other people, you should tell us first if you yourself are happy or not.
and I'm extremely happy.

I am happy! I try to encourage positivity and to have people look at what they have in their lives to be grateful for - so I am quite the sun spot, so to speak. I do have trouble relaxing sometimes and I do get anxious, but I recognize when I start to get that way and try my usual list of tactics to calm myself down.

do you actually want to know, or even care to know if everyone who's going to respond to this are happy or not?

Am curious, so yes, I would care?

No. I'd guess most people think I'm happier than I am, or--if they guess I'm not--misidentify the reasons.

Unless something big happens, I'm usually happy, or at least content. I'll sometimes go through a couple days of depression, but I've noticed it's very rare and probably due to hormones.

I am only happy when I'm involved in something I enjoy. Otherwise I'm just okay. Most people think I am happier than I actually am.

I think the idea that you can be identified as happy, or that there is actually an objective happiness axis, is a marketing concept.

Certainly I enjoy being alive a lot, but sometimes I'm in a pretty dark state of mind while doing so.

Happy is a hard concept to define. Sure, I'm happy, but am I satisfied with where I am in life? That'd probably be a no.

Happy comes from slowing down, seeing all the things around you and enjoying them. I can do that, sometimes. I try to do that but most times that's hard cuz of how fast the world is now.

I agree! Where I am in life right now = PREPARING FOR THE MCAT!

I think that depends on the person. Sometimes I am an incredibly happy person, a complete optimist, yet at other times, and around specific people, I break down. So some people think I am happy-go-lucky, and others think I should check in to a mental health clinic.

In actuality? I am mainly happy. Always striving to do whatever I can to become more so. Who isn't? Life is about finding happiness for oneself, and keeping it.
